    3. Also, check Bracebridge Pauper Lunatic Asylum. It is possible she was sent there, and if she is in there, there are many records existing for the patients, case histories, all sorts. You didn't give her age, but of course she could have been sent out to service if she was not too imbecile. Or, there are hospitals that the Guardians sent their paupers too, even to Nottingham (Deaf & Dumb school) and London, and also other institutions that took patients who were not fit for asylums, but needed specialist care. I have someone in a home for epileptics in Liverpool in 1911. 3. Annie was baptised in Gosberton in 1849 , so I guess that made her 62 in 1911. She was the youngest of 9 , 7 girls and 2 boys. The eldest boy being recorded as Imbecile until his death . He was more definite in that classification being described on very census as such, (1851-1901) ,on the last of which it does not look like he is with a family member. He was the eldest son of a farming family. Father, John Cropley died in 1853 when the other brother Thomas was too young to work . Leaving his widow with a the difficult prospect of raising a family that included two children that needed extra care. I imagine it was a difficult time, and perhaps even before the father's death as two of the older girls; Fanny (born Quadring 1830) and Caroline (Quadring 1828) are listed in ten workhouse in 1851 Anne at the workhouse in 1891 and 1901 is clearly not described as an imbecile and yet prior to that by her family, she is and it is very clear. You would think that Annie would have been the easiest to care for after her mother's death but it seems John, was sometimes capable of work ( in 1861 and 1891 he is listed as an agricultural labourer). I am still trying to make sense of it all.
