    3. The problem that many people have in unsubscribing is that they don't use the correct e-mail address.  Most "listservers", which is the e-mail that manages a list of subscribers have three addresses: 1.  For list mail - which is what you use to post to the list. 2.  For the list owner - to tell me off or to tell me "I want Digest mode", etc. 3.  A Command address - to tell the software to do something, like unsubscribe you.  That's why there's a "-request" in the e-mail address (see below). I find that people have their e-mail set to "auto-fill" the addresses they use, and if you've just posted to the list, your software will "auto-fill" the posting address.  If that happens, you need to take your e-mail software by the neck (No, No!) and correct it.     Lou (list admin.) ________________________________ From: Mike Phoenix <mjphoenix@bigpond.com> To: eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, February 27, 2012 12:53 PM Subject: [LIN] Trying to unsubscribe I am trying to unsubscribe before a two week trip. 3. Mike, There is another way of course. Set up a rule/filter for the emails coming in from Lincolnshire list so that on arrival, they automatically divert to the "deleted" mail box, Then on your return, alter the rule/filter back to "normal service". Peter Holmes Western Australia. Skype ; p.g.holmes [HOLMES (Witham on the Hill, Manthorpe, Spalding, Pinchbeck, Donington then Leicestershire)]. [DAVISON (Spalding, Donington, Ingoldmells, Skegness)]. [CRAGG (Lincolnshire, Leicestershire & Nottinghamshire)] [FREER (Leicestershire)]. [RYLOTT & WITHERINGTON (Anwick, N & S Kyme, N & S Rauceby, Surfleet, Gosberton Clough etc., Spalding)] [RYLOTT (Ontario Canada & some in New York & Florida USA)] Villages are in Lincolnshire unless stated.
