Greetings, all! I have a bit of a conundrum and would welcome your input. My 2X great grandparents were William Henry WINTER and Jane EYRE who married 15 May 1856 at Brauncewell. Their first child Ann was born 1857 Bicker. The next 4 were born in Caythorpe - George 1858, Sarah 1861, James 1862, Mary 1863 (died and buried Caythorpe 1864). The last 5 children were born in Fulbeck - John Benjamin 1867, Mary Jane 1869, Charles 1870, William Henry Jr. 1871, Herbert 1873, Nellie 1874 Thomas K. 1875 (my great grandfather). I have the baptism pages from the PRs for all the children through John Benjamin, then I have looked at every page on Find My Past and there are no other children in the PRs for William and Jane although Renee Redshaw looked them up on her fiche for me awhile back and found Sep 1873 Herbert WINTER Apr 1874 Nellie WINTER Dec 1875 Thomas K. WINTER I found the page for the marriage Renee sent me at the same time (George AUBROOK aka HAWBROOK and Rebecca CHRISTIAN 1804 Fubeck - William WINTER's maternal grandparents), but hanged if I can find the last 6 children. Is it possible those entries are from a different book that isn't uploaded at FMP yet or the BTs for PR entries that are missing? Suggestions anyone? Additionally, I wonder if anyone can give me any information about Gallipot Hall? It looks to me like it is/was on the southeast corner of South Heath Road and Pottergate Lane. William Henry WINTER was listed in the 1871 census as Groundskeeper and he lived on The Heath. The entries immediately before are residences listed as Southorpe, Gatehouse, The Heath and Gallipot Hall where Joseph GARLAND is resident as Groundskeeper then 3 residences on the The Heath after the WINTERs followed by 2 at Maiden House. In 1881 It appears the WINTER and GARLAND families are in the same residences although the Garland residence is no longer listed as Gallipot Hall and they are now both listed as Farm Bailiff. I would love to be able to pin down just where the WINTERs lived and if that house is still there. I would also love to determine just who William Henry worked for. I thought the FANEs owned most of the parish and he likely worked for them until I saw Gallipot Hall and Pottergate Farm (was this farm in operation at that time?). Could he have worked for someone else? I've looked at the area as far as I can at street level on Google Maps and could kick myself. Had I known when I was stationed in England and visited friends in Lincs on a regular basis, I would have done a great deal of research there. I've eaten at the Hare and Hounds and been in almost all the villages right around Fulbeck and never knew my roots were there! The WINTERs came to the US in 1882. Many thanks in advance!
