    3. Hi, Missing Lincs,     I need help from someone who knows Alackby parish real well.     It appears that the churchyard was closed for burials and that a new "civil" public cemetery was opened.  But I can find no proof.     Is there a public  (or "Civil") cemetery in Aslackby?  When did the churchyard close?         Lou

    3. Hi Lou, I just Googled 'Folkingham airfield', and got a huge page of images which includes the rhyme I mentioned on the gatepost, as well as 'planes, scrap vehicles, racing cars, and the memorial in the new burial ground. The link looks complicated: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=folkingham+airfield&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=ttvLUpncOM25hAeo4IHwAg&sqi=2&ved=0CDsQsAQ&biw=1252&bih=606 I am not sure how this will travel in an email, but I am sure the page will interest you. In another page there was a link which included Google Earth, so you could walk on the airfield (moving the little yellow man) and the lanes around Aslackby. Rex

    3. Many many thanks REX, now that is something I never knew about, and it is very interesting, not only from the subject matter, but also because that is where my Family came from in the late 1600's, stranger than fiction. Thanks again Bazza On 7 January 2014 11:00, Rex Johnson <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi Lou, > I just Googled 'Folkingham airfield', and got a huge page of images > which includes the rhyme I mentioned on the gatepost, as well as > 'planes, scrap vehicles, racing cars, and the memorial in the new burial > ground. > The link looks complicated: > > https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=folkingham+airfield&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=ttvLUpncOM25hAeo4IHwAg&sqi=2&ved=0CDsQsAQ&biw=1252&bih=606 > I am not sure how this will travel in an email, but I am sure the page > will interest you. > In another page there was a link which included Google Earth, so you > could walk on the airfield (moving the little yellow man) and the lanes > around Aslackby. > Rex > > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the > quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
