DALTON, WITTON KENWORTHY Private 867 20/07/1916 Australian Infantry, A.I.F. Australian 2. V.C. CORNER AUSTRALIAN CEMETERY AND MEMORIAL, FROMELLES from CWGC The Lincolnshire Family History Society transcribed and indexed cemeteries and church yards back in the 1980's copies are at Lincoln archives and Grimsby Library I assume probably at other Lincs libraries as well if the are for sale see http://www.lincolnshirefhs.org.uk/ look under publications, you may find other resources of interest too On Ancestry there are 2 entries for Witton Dalton coming from New York to Liverpool Witton K 1902 and just Witton similar age 1907 can see the father and son 1901 census but not 1891, in America? I found the entry for his army record and it states unmarried I wonder if the reference to a son refers to WK's father ________________________________ From: marg o'leary <[email protected]> To: PAMELA BAILLIE <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, 21 February 2014, 10:46 Subject: Re: [LIN] {Spam?} Witton Kenworthy DALTON 1886-1816 Thanks for the look up, do you know of any resources I was asking about? regards Marg OLeary Port Stephens NSW -----Original Message----- From: PAMELA BAILLIE Sent: Friday, February 21, 2014 8:16 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LIN] {Spam?} Witton Kenworthy DALTON 1886-1816 http://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/casualty/720986/DALTON,%20WITTON%20KENWORTHY died 20/07/1916 according to CWGC see above parents mentioned ________________________________ From: marg o'leary <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Friday, 21 February 2014, 7:28 Subject: [LIN] {Spam?} Witton Kenworthy DALTON 1886-1816 Hi all new to the list and wondering if anyone can help. Found this on the net. Witton Kenworthy DALTON "Named on Queen Elizabeth Grammar School Roll of Honour, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, England. Youngest son of the late Wilton Dalton (manager of the Gainsborough branch of the Sheffield Bank, of Morton). Embarked on HMAS Beltana 9.11.15 at Sydney. Lived in Wilcannia NSW. Remembered on a family headstone in North Warren Cemetery, Gainsborough? Also of his son? Missing in France July 19th 1915 R.I.P?" I wonder if anyone has a list of headstones for that cemetery. Would like to know what the transcription says. As far as I know Witton never married. I dont know how or when he got to Australia to join up in 1915. He died in 1916 (not 1915 as above) I am actually trying to find if any family members are still around Lincolnshire. Both his father and grandfather were Witton. His mother's family, the Taylors, come from Sheffield, and have tracked back to Edna Kenworthy married William Taylor, a merchant from Brussels. And further back her parents. William Kenworthy married Sophia ? about 1800. And there it ends. Happy for any help with resources in Lincolnshire regards Marg OLeary Port Stephens NSW ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
