Hello all As the list is quiet perhaps no one will mind if I ask about our family puzzle please. Family legend has it that my mother's maternal family is descended from Isaac Newton's half brother, Benjamin Smith. My mother told me that she and her mother had researched it and it was true. This was a conversation with my mother of over 70 years ago. I have never been able to get back that far, although they perhaps were both nearer to the puzzle both in generation and in place. So perhaps I can connect from both ends and try and find out something about Benjamin and his descendants. I know he was born in 1651, the son of Hannah Ayscough and her second husband Rev Barnabus Smith. Benjamin had two sisters whose lives are well known. I believe Benjamin followed his father into the Church and may have lived in Stamford. Certainly his mother died there. I would love to know more about Benjamin. Did he marry? Did he have any children? When did he die? Are there any records of Church Ministers in Lincolnshire anywhere please? I have been looking for some years, but not found much at all. Perhaps he lived a quiet life like his father. It seems a shame that so much is known about his sisters and his half brother, but little is known about Benjamin. I would love to know - whether or not he turns out to be my ancestor! My thanks for any help at all. Mary
