Hi list, A cousin of mine and I are researching the PORTAS families in Lincs. Of all my gatherings over my years at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, I have just touched on Donnington on Bain PORTAS families. I can't answer her question. I went on Lincstothepast.com and didn't see any parish records to look through. So I turn to the smartest Lincolnshire researchers on the WWW. Benjamin MALKINSON - Widower and Elizabeth PORTAS - Widow / Both of Donnington on Bain were married 26 Aug 1782. Benjamin & Elizabeth had two children: Elizabeth bap. 10 Nov 1783 d. 16 Nov 1783; Mary bap 1786. My cousin writes (thought process at work): "So Elizabeth must have been about 40-45 when she gave birth. Benjamin MALKINSON was born about 1713 so presumably Elizabeth must have been a lot younger than him. Any ideas who this Elizabeth PORTAS could be?" Who was her husband (PORTAS) prior to Benjamin? He's possibly the missing link to her maiden name. Any help would be appreciated.
