    3. Hi, Missing Lincs,     Any of you have a Cowleech in the family?  This somewhat unpleasant title was for a person who doctored cows.  "Cowhealer" seems like a better term, but we never get to select, do we?  Now, they may have actually used leeches in their healing efforts.  After all, human doctors used to.     The drawing off of a small amount of blood often has a euphoric effect on people, leading doctors to believe that it as doing some good.  I get my euphoria from finding long lost relatives!     While thinking of names for jobs, I am reminded that villages have "nicknames" too.  We discussed a few of those about 4 years ago.  Scunny is Scunthorpe, Solly is Saltfleetby, Hag is Hagwothingham.  But some of them aren't obvious.  So if you have an odd name you are trying to find, this list is a good place to ask.     I noticed that the first name "Samuel" was popular in the midlands back in the mid 1800s.  Tell us about your favorite Samuel in your family tree.         Lou (list admin.)
