So many folk used to change their names, often wondered why, what are they hiding from? I know many young men before enlisting changed their name and age, but then how would any official business reach them, like change names. Young men put their ages down to fight, if only the knew what was ahead of them, would they have done it realising their future, I bet not.. With me, I hated my married name, so when my husband died in 2000, I added my maiden name and hyphened it, but not for official records, would cost something to change all the records.. also got tired of people ringing me up for Mr Graham.. foxed them when Mr no longer existed!
