Hi John It would appear that he was Joseph Arthur Frith born 1st of May 1892 the second son of John W and Annie Frith in Scunthorpe, by 1911 census he is living in Sutton Coldfield Warwickshire (now part of Birmingham) and is listed as an Assistant Hairdresser.
