Hi Carol There is a marriage in Bottesford,29 December 1812, Mary Morefoot, which is near Scunthorpe, some 20 miles north of Lincoln, but that William is from East Halton. The other one is at Long Sutton, (Sutton St Mary), This is that one, a John Wright is a witness, bride is a Mary Gibson. Long Sutton is close to Holbeach. http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=55833 8 <http://www.lincstothepast.com/Records/RecordDisplayTranscript.aspx?oid=5583 38&iid=244175> &iid=244175 The other clue is that entry about Mary Wright having a mother called Sewells, Morefoot or Gibson, who has a school in Lincoln. Now that was in 1828, well there weren't many school in Lincoln in that time. The other clue I notice is that William was living in Stamford at the time, some 50 miles south from Lincoln along the A1. He was dealt with my Lincoln magistrates eventually on the Midland Circuit, and his wife was in Lincoln. I wonder if she was estranged from William by this time, which was why he was in Stamford & Bourn. What about children, you mention 2 of them in the blog story. Have you had a search for them in the census at all. John
