Lou, I have a few in my tree who were probably known as Fingers but not because they were clumsy nor were they musicians to my knowledge. At least it gave them free travel to Australia and free board when they arrived. As none were from Lincolnshire I won't say more except that a great grandson of 4 of those fine examples of skilled English folk married a deeply religious Friskney Lass ( my grandmother) David Every now and then a child gets a Nickname and you hope it doesn't stick for life. My second daughter earned the nickname "Fingers" because she had to touch everything.
