I have been using the Find My Past website over the last few months to access images of Lincolnshire parish registers. However, now that they have introduced a new search on this website I cannot find these records any longer. If they are still there, then I just don¹t know how to find them. I therefore decided earlier today to go back to the Lincs to the Past website. However, I can¹t seem to find any parish registers on this site either. Is it me or can anyone help me to find these records? I have even tried entering just Lincoln as the search term and I¹m still being told that there are no results that match my search query. Has Lincolnshire Archives improved¹ the search engine on this website also? Do you now have to register to conduct a search? I have tried accessing the site using Safari, Chrome and Firefox but I get the same problem with them all. Geoff Giles Leicester, UK
Geoff, Every so often LTTP seems to have a meltdown when either you stop getting thumbnail links to the PRs or you get just a straight 'no results'. In the last four days I've had results but no thumbnails; results with thumbnails; and 'no results'. It's frustrating to say the least. I keep meaning to write and ask LTTP why this happens. For instance, do they carry out site maintenance on certain dates in the month/certain times, and if so why can't they tell us on the site? Re the PRs on FMP: Someone on the FMP feedback page has written "I used to be able to browse the Lincolnshire parish records page by page which was extremely useful. Now I cannot even find them in your list of records available. Please tell me how to find them." Paul Dunlop, Product Manager has replied: "We are currently working on this feature, and will be re-launching our Lincolnshire browseable records within the next few weeks." Hi Geoff, The Lincolnshire Collection is on now on FMP by clicking on the menu bar "Search Records" > "Search all records". A link to the Lincolnshire Collection is under "Special Collections" on the right hand side of the page. As Nivard says they are currently working on a browse function hopefully when they have finished what they are doing it will be a little easier to find records than it was.
