Hi again I should perhaps have added, whilst PAF has been discontinued, there is a later more up to date program from the same stable as originally wrote PAF That being Ancestral Quest http://www.ancquest.com/index.htm Like most reputable companies they do a free basic version so you can evaluate it It is so closely aligned that you can open an existing PAF file and edit it in either PAF or AQ The full program is very competitively priced Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 30/03/2016 09:23, Nivard Ovington wrote: > Morning Edie > > re PAF, the first thing to say is that PAF was discontinued a while ago > and support has ceased > > However its such a stable program and has been in use for years that > support is rarely if ever required (I have never needed it in all the > many years I have used it) --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus
Nivard has said it all. I have exported trees from PAF to all kinds of other programs quite successfully. I am quite happy to stay with PAF but when doing some research for other friends I have used Legacy and FTM amongst others. Heredis is a good one to use on an IPad. I find though that it is far easier to set them all up on PAF and then export to whichever package you are using. I find PAF is so easy to use and as Nivard says, a great many of the new features are never needed. W. Smith
