'tis a puzzlement. I've been waiting for a response from Rootsweb myself on a mailing list issue. Our list receives about 100 spam messages daily, which are effectively trapped by the anti-spam software, but it does take a list admin's time to go thru each one to verify that the Spam is in fact Spam. I can see no obvious reason for Bart to be "de-listed". He's not a Nigerian Prince, nor is he trapped at an airport in Eastern Europe, although neither of those conditions would prevent one from being on a Rootsweb mailing list. It may be a simple case of not enough staff to keep up with the problems of running a server farm. Perhaps if he showed up at Ancestry's office with a basket of US $20 bills, he'd get more attention. But they may mistake him for a lost political candidate. Certainly we've been telling our politicians to get lost lately. Because his problem is not obvious, I will lay the problem on the software at Rootsweb's e-mail servers. Internet E-mail is normally a simple and reliable service, but if you make a mistake in configuring it, it will bite you! So have a sip of good sherry. At least one of my ancestors would. And keep on truckin'. It is the only way I can let Bart know that his messages from me and to/from the MARKHAM UK list keep bouncing. -------------------------------
