Hi I have hit a brick wall.. Well more a case of vanishing person My fathers aunt died a couple of weeks ago and me and dad got chatting and he said in all the years that you have been doing this tree thing you have never found Auntie Winnie and Uncle Ben, it appears that he met them a couple of time at his great grans in the 1950's, all he could tell me was that she was tall and was in her late 50's Well I have done a bit of digging and I have found her birth in Lambeth in 1895 - Winifred Daisy SMEDLEY - She is the daughter of Annie SKINNER nee WILSON and William SMEDLEY - both from CROWLAND - its was the second marriage for both of them, Winifred is on 1901 with her mum and dad and my great Gran (Ada SKINNER) living on Fletton Ave Peterborough - just up the road from where I live now - so go forward 10 years and Annie is now a Widow living in Alma Road, Peterborough, and Ada is now married to my Great granfather, but no sign of WINIFRED DAISY SMEDLEY, there is no record of her death during this time and it seems that she has just vanished, I have looked for a marriage and cant find nothing. I have ordered her birth cert this morning and hope that might help Any ideas what to do next Karen
