Thanks Anne, that has clarified her as 'my' Charlotte Bingley as she was born Charlotte Norton in Lincoln in 1786. I have seen the inquest reported in the Lincolnshire Chronicle, I'm unsure if this may appear elsewhere ? I also have the publications of the Workhouse Minutes in which there is one reference to a Widow Bingley in 1837. Unfortunately Lincolnshire Register Office can not find the entry for her death ? I'm not sure if this is common or not as she died in the workhouse ? Regards, Sam.
There should certainly be a death certificate for her, particularly as she was in the workhouse when she died, and there was an inquest. Her death is recorded on the 20th October 1840. The inquest on the CD is from the Stamford Mercury. It also mentions her husband's death as you described. The reports may be very similar as I suspect they were syndicated.
