Hello and many thanks for answering. I do apologise for not entering more information. The name is so common for that period I agree and his birth years cross with many others. However Enough of that. Here is the information that I have on a young man who for me disappeared after 1911. ( if it helps?) Young Albert was born to 9498 Sergeant Albert Richardson of the Scots Guards ( 3rd Regiment of foot guards)and Emily Eleanor Lloyd on 16 December 1903. He was baptised on the 28th December 1903 in The Guards Chapel Lying in Hospital York Road Lambeth. The adjutant provided the signature. The Chaplain was D Bryant. Albert Richardson senior left the Army in 1905 after 13 years service. Having served in the Boer wars. He sailed to South Africa on the SS Britannic on 15 March 1900. Prior to this he was on a military tradesmans course at WELL camp near Alford in Lincolnshire. I think it was a butchery course? Here aged 29 he met Sarah Emily Lloyd aged 29 who was staying with her sister Mary Jane who was married to a George Brumby. They married on January 16th 1899 in Alford parish church. I have no knowledge of the whereabouts of Emily in 1901? In 1903 on 26 Dec 1907 a son George William was born at 61 Lisle Road Colchester! After leaving the Army in 1905 Albert Senior worked for The firm Richard Dickenson & Company wholesale grocers and provisions merchants of 136 to 148 Tooley Street London. The 1911 census shows the whole family living at 61 Lisle Street Colchester however Albert Senior and Junior are crossed out? Albert Junior is with his aunt Mary Jane Brumby in Alford Lincs at this census! I have not found Albert Senior for the 1911 census. I believe that George William was sent to Doctor Barnardos. In 1920 a child of that name was sent to Canada under the Scheme of the day. He started work for a farmer in 1922 and was still there in 1929. What became of him after that I have no idea! Emily Eleanor Richardson died of heart failure on 9th September 1923 at Calceby Lincs! Reported by her brother in law George Brumby. I have no idea where she is buried. An Albert Richardson of 131 Caledonian road London aged 60 a grocers assistant, died of heart failure on the 15 October 1931 at a nursing home in Epsom Surrey. The above is the sum of my knowledge of this family. It is unfortunate but not unusual that due to various protection acts it can become difficult to find information regarding the 19th and 20th century. Once again I apologise for not including this information in my original letter. John Richardson

If you're a newbie, then this is the sort of stuff you need to tell us: So far you've said Albert was born in late 1903, birth registered in 1904, and that he was living as a nephew in Alford in 1911. Expecting anyone to find a marriage with only that information is plain silly. :) There's 201 plain Albert Richardson - no middle initial - marriages between 1924 and 1964 in England and Wales, just for starters. Of course, the inference from your 1911 reference is that Albert was born in Lincolnshire, but the census actually says Chelsea. Do you have Albert's birth certificate? If so, who are his parents? What is his birthdate? Where was he born? If you have his birth date, then try to find him on the 1939 Register, and see who else is in the same household. If he's still single, then it cuts out quite a few of those 201 marriages. The 1939 Register is only available on Findmypast, but some libraries have access to the site, as I believe LDS FHCs do too. Do you know when Albert died? If so, where and when? I presume that you don't have this information, so obtaining the birth certificate could perhaps help you find his death registration because from June quarter 1969 the person's date of birth was given on death certificates and appears in the GRO Index. (Though the accuracy of the birth date does depend on how well the death registration informant knew the deceased.) What else, if anything, do you know about Albert? Where he was living at any particular time (apart from 1911), did he have any brothers or sisters, etc. If you don't have Albert's birth certificate, then I would suggest that you send for it if you want to get any further with your enquiry. The GRO currently have a scheme whereby you can send for a PDF copy of a birth certificate for only £6.00 as opposed to the usual £9.25.It'll be black and white instead of a pretty red colour but it will have all the information you need. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ >From the GRO Historical birth indexes (and based on the information already given about Albert), I would reckon his registration is the one in Wandsworth, March quarter 1904, mother's maiden name Blenkins. As a former verizon.net <http://verizon.net/> customer, I can tell you Verizon shut down its email service about six months ago. You had the option of using AOL/ALTO in order to keep your verizon.net <http://verizon.net/> address. However, on October 24th an email was sent from the ALTO team stating that Alto mail will shut down in December so they can focus on OATH projects. The app will be closing soon as well. Now is the time to change your email address as I have. Just follow the directions at the bottom of this email. It’s a pain as we all receive a ton of emails. Life is full of fun and changes and we must make the most of them all. Let’s all keep looking for family and finding new information. I believe that AIM (remember that?) is being closed down in December by Oath (the Verizon/AOL owner). I have also read that Verizon is closing its email servers and moving all customers onto the AOL mail servers. AOL is not closing down in fact it has just upgraded the security on its servers. https://help.aol.com/articles/verizon-move-to-aol-mail-faq Terry -----Original Message----- From: lr_mills@mauimail.com [mailto:lr_mills@mauimail.com] Sent: 03 November 2017 16:05 To: eng-lincsgen Subject: [LIN] Admin. note: E-Mail address changes Heads up AOL users! I believe our list is back up. I am seeing list postings at this e-mail adress. However, for those of us who administer lists, there are still some problems with the "Mailman" software. Maureen, tehe instructions to unsubscribe are at the bottom of every posting to our list. To subscribe under your new address, the instructions are the same, only the word ":unsubscribe" should then read "subscribe" (all without the quotes. Heads up AOL users! I have just seen e-mail traffic telling me that AOL and another E-mail provider will be closing down in December. There is NO automatic way to forward your e-mail to a new address. Once these vendors shut down, any e-mail to their users will be lost. YOU have the power to fix that. Hi, Missing Lincs, Two events in recent weeks have reminded me of certain things. 1. An 80 year-old brother-in-law died but had no will. He has a piece of property that he co-owns with his brothers and sister, and he pays part of the taxes. His wife does not want the property (I've seen it and understand why) or the tax responsibility. So, message to all: Write that will. And dispose of things no one wants. 2. The area I live in was in the news due to wildfires. Sources say that the Tubbs Fire burned over 3,400 homes to the ground. Write that will and put a copy in your off-site backup location. You might want to have a "go bag" in the coat closet by the front door. Many fire victims got out with just the clothes on their backs - no purse, no passport, no money. Kinda like that couple who lives down by the park stream, eh? When you get those things done, it is time to write down "Where to research next". And share that with us. Where will you look next in Lincolnshire to flesh out that family tree? Lou (list admin.)
