With the recent changes there are a few problems to resolve One is the footer messages which admins cannot access to alter So all the old footer messages will continue to be repeated until its resolved It is a work in progress Hence my posts to try and inform of the later addresses Have you registered or re-registered with Rootsweb ? If you had you would see the new addresses on every lists home page See the message on the Rootsweb home page http://home.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 28-Mar-18 4:30 PM, Terry Wells wrote: > That may be so Nivard but what I copied was from ENG-LINCSGEN Digest, Vol 13, Issue 36 received today. That may be so Nivard but what I copied was from ENG-LINCSGEN Digest, Vol 13, Issue 36 received today. If it is wrong then it needs to be corrected. I don't know where you got the "correct" addresses from but they don't appear in my digests. I assume Lou will get it sorted. Have you considered Elisabeth Allen dau of George & Ann baptised 26 Mar 1797 at North Kelsey? Bernie From: P A W Sent: 26 March 2018 21:47 To: eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com Subject: [LIN] Honour the woman: Elizabeth Allen from Louth Hello all, I am still looking for Elizabeth Allen (c1797-1847) who married my gg-grandfather, John Taylor, on 14 Jul 1825 in Louth; she was a spinster. One of the witnesses to their marriage was a George Allen, the other Sophia Hornby. I have researched George & found information on someone who may be him, born 1789, Kirton in Lindsey but living in Louth by 1818, he seems to have had 2 sisters - Sarah & Mary Ann (surname Allin), parents George & Ann Allin. None of this leads me to Elizabeth though. I have tried finding Sophia in case she was a married sister but still no luck. Any ideas/leads gratefully received. Thanks, Patricia

Hi there, can I ask the list if anyone knows anything about, or can shed any light on Fredrick Robinson Dob. 1907 in the Keddington area of Louth Lincolnshire. I have tried to find additional information about him but with no success. Fredrick Robinson from Keddington Louth, Lincolnshire is the brother of my Mother's first husband Alfred Reginald Robinson who was born in 1903 in South Elkington Louth Lincolnshire. Their father was Fred Robinson born in Louth Park Lincolnshire in circa 1877/78, and the mother was Rachael Gladden born in Marsham in Norfolk in 1876. I would be most grateful for any information Please. Further to my recent post about the above lady, I have since discovered that Dorothy (my 10th Great Grandmother by marriage) was a patient in the - then- notorious London Bethlem Asylum, famously known as 'Bedlam'. I have seen online records for 2 years of her stay there in 1631 and 1632. Her husband Richard Jackson died in 1631, Dorothy died in 1632. Their youngest child Joseph was 8 years old at the time of his mother's death. I am now attempting to trace what happened to their remaining children, particularly the younger ones, but am not having a great deal of luck so far, except their eldest son, my 9th Gt Grandfather. Any suggestions welcomed. Is there anyone on the list researching JACKSON in Lincs. I have so much information to share, and there were large numbers of them, mainly Ag Labs with the odd boatman thrown in for a bit of variety! Sent from my iPad
Hi Terry, You make a very good point, but, yes, most definitely we have the right Plowrights ...here's the proper order...sorry for the confusion. My excuse is a lovely spring head cold. :-) The Birth Certificate for little John Thomas Abraham their son: 21 April 1850, Elton, John Thomas, Abraham , Boy, Father, John Newton, Mother, Eliza Newton, formerly Hooton, Labourer, x The mark of Eliza Newton, mother, Elton, Twenty first May 1850, Registrar. Then we see the three of them in the 1851 census taken on 30 March 1851 Little Worth, Deeping Fen, Deeping St. Nicholas John Newton, Head, Marr., age 31, ground Keeper, born Elton, Lincs. Eliza, Wife, Marr., age 21, groundkeeper wife, born Spalding John Thomas, son, age 11 mo., born Elton. 1851 Census, 68 North Gate, Pinchbeck James Plowright was a visitor in the Edward Marvin's house. James was living in the 1841 census with his mum and dad, age 12, in Pinchbeck in Hammond Beck Bank. So John Newton was still alive 30 March 1851.. after this I think is when Eliza's first husband, John died and perhaps in Deeping Fen or that area and so Eliza and little Thomas packed up and moved north up to Heckington. In 1861 The young Eliza turns up as 'the missing 7yr. old' in Heckington living with the Priestley's. As her father James was baptized in Heckington the Priestleys may have been family or close friends. Another puzzle to solve. James Plowright lived/worked in Fishtoft so that's why young Elizabeth was born there. Yes, Eliza (the young Elizabeth) birth certificate: registered July 25, 1853. parents names: James Ploughwright and Eliza Newton, Eliza made her mark "x" This was my great grandparent's oldest daughter/child. So then Little John Thomas' Death Certificate says he died 29th March 1854, Langriville, John Thomas Newton, Male, 3 years, son of John Newton, Husbandman (Deseased), Accidently drowned in Castle Dike Drain, Coroner, Boston, 28 April 1854, Registrar. And yes, James and Eliza lost several children. -----Original Message-----LFrom: Terry Wells via ENG-LINCSGEN [mailto:eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com] Sent: March 25, 2018 1:59 AM To: eng-lincsgen@rootsweb.com Cc: Terry Wells <terry.wells@talktalk.net> Subject: [LIN] Re: death of Thomas NEWTON & Eliza Hooton/NEWTON/PLOWRIGHT 2nd marriage.
