Dear Lou Some possibilities from the 1911 census: Miss Louisa Ann Peart at Lusby 1911 RG14PN19824 RG78PN1186 RD419 SD3 ED17 SN22 Certificated School Teacher b Bigby abt 1885 Miss Louisa Mary Radcliffe at Louth 1911 RG14PN19894 RG78PN1193 RD421 SD2 ED1 SN8 Head Teacher b Liverpool abt 1876 Mrs Elizabeth Storey at Ludborough - not certain, but in 1911 a Mrs Elizabeth Jane Storey (no occupation) was living in Convamore Road, Grimsby, the second wife of a fisherman. She had married him about 1907, and was then in charge of five children aged 5 to 15 from his first marriage. She had been born about 1881 in Jarrow, Co. Durham. MGC: Some Thoughts: I have spent some today to look into this line. Is William Lowe's mother's maiden name DAWSON ?. It would seem so far .... that it would be Mary Dawson b:1776 in Spilsby nearby ?. What is your birth date and place for Thomas Lowe brother of William ?. Places: Bilsby - Spilsby - Claxby - Ulceby - Alford - East Ravensdale - Horncastle - Coningsby - Swaby : All very close to each other !!!. You should use all of these places plus anything this nearby to further your research here !!!. There is a lot here about. Make good note of each one.... === Surname Forename Born in Place of birth Location in 1841 *Dawson Mary 1776 Spilsby *Lowe Mary 1776 Lincolnshire Spilsby, Alford *Lowe Thomas 1776 Lincolnshire Spilsby, Alford [Dawson Mary 1776 Lincolnshire Horncastle, Horncastle ???] *The above seems to me to be what you are looking for ?. === *William Lowe m:10-03-1830 East Ravensdale sp:Jane Markham. A James Dawson was a witness. *James Markham m:29 Nov 1827 East Ravensdale With West Ravensdale, Lincoln, England sp: Jane Kermon This must be her brother (or near) ?. === *Thomas Low m: 27 Aug 1771 Swaby, Lincoln, England sp: Sarah Epton *William Lowe chr: 15 May 1802 Coningsby, Lincoln, England res: Coningsby, Lincoln, England parents: Thomas Lowe, Jane (Epton?) Descendants also immigrates elsewhere. === - S.K.M. - [!!!] ================================ The most promising one was that a Dawson was the Vicar in Alford starting about 1808.] Perhaps the James Dawson who was a witness at the marriage of William and Jane in 1830 could be a lead. Mary would have been deceased by that date. but do not list his mother who was deceased. That makes me wonder if he was deceased in 1844. ===
Would love to find Thomas THOMAZIN in the 1841 census. I have located him in all other census records, city directories, and marriage records, children's baptisms, etc. up until the time he and his family left for America in 1866. I feel like I've exhausted all means, but perhaps new eyes will be able to locate him. Thomas is the son of Robert and Sarah (Bycraft) Thomazin, born 11 Mar 1824 and baptized at Moulton 13 Mar 1824. I've not been able to find Thomas with any of his relatives at that time either. There is a Robert HAMES, age 15, shown as a wheelwright apprentice, with his uncle, Bennet Thomazin in Weston. The age is right and Thomas did go on to be a wheelwright. The writing is very difficult to read - it does look to be Robert HAMES, though. June Missouri, USA
This is driving me nuts! I have DAWSONs, and I have MARKHAMs, in the same areas, and yet no connections so far! Happy hunting! Hello Leonard, I have no means of comparing the two, number wise, but the new indexes contain more information than the ones on fiche and many corrections have been made. Graham, there is a Jane Palethorpe who was buried on 6 May 1875 (78 years) at St James', Skillington. Also, Susannah Palethorpe buried 29 April 1871 at St Peters, Ropsley.
