I last have him in the 1891 census in Littlebourne, Kent, although he was born in Great Grimsby in 1867. He and his wife were counted twice in the 1891 census, once in Littlebourne and once in Cheriton (near Folkstone). The only difference in the entries is the age. Can someone check the 1901 census for Flora? I'm curious if they came back to Lincolnshire. She should be age 30, her husband Henry should be 33 working as a groom. Lou

    3. I'm not seeing that behavior on my e-mail vendor (who is Yahoo.com), but I know that sometimes they change a setting and nothing gets through.  I use to have multiple e-mail accounts for that reason, but I gave all that up about two years ago and just have one now and live with the problems they give me.     Lou (list admin.) The girl in Deal is the real Deal!  She is Mary's daughter.  The father was a soldier in the Royal Marines, John BREWSTER.  Both Mary and John appear to have "appeared" without leaving a trace of their origins for me to trip over.  I have a direct line back to Rebecca.  If she hadn't married Amos FRISBY, I wouldn't be here.  :-)  Amos is my Lincolnshire (Corby Glen) connection with lots of others on this list.     Lou ----- Original Message ----- From: Margaret Taylor <[email protected]> To: Louis Mills <[email protected]>; [email protected] Cc: Sent: Saturday, May 10, 2014 10:55 AM Subject: Re: [LIN] Mary who married John BREWSTER Hi Lou, There is  a Rebecca BREWSTER chr 6 Feb 1814 in Deal Kent to Mary & John BREWSTER  but can't find a marriage in Rutland or Kent that fits the picture. I desperately hope it is 1863 as the lady who I believe was Isaac's first wife (who he also married at Skirbeck St Nicholas) wasn't buried until 5 January 1863. :) (In Sibsey where they were living in 1861.) 3. Hello, Looking for information on Joseph TOMBLIN(G), born around 1803 in Gainsborough, Lincs. He married Mary Jane (or, possibly, just Jane) COOK at Holbeach in 1831. In the 1861 census, Joseph is listed as a gardener, but I have also found the probate for a Joseph Tomblin (died 11 June 1888) of Bisbrooke, Rutland, farmer. As Joseph was at Bisbrooke in the 1861 census, it may well be the same man, but I wonder if anyone knows if this can be corroborated? One of Joseph’s children was Ann (born 1833) who married Thomas GIBBS at All Saints, Holbeach in 1855. Thomas & Ann were my 2x great-grandparents & one of their children, my great-grandma Jane CHAMBERS (nee Gibbs), was one of the people who died in the cholera epidemic in Hull in September 1893. Thank you. Janet

    3. This Mary (surname unknown) is identified as the mother of several children baptised at East Keal between 1739 and 1754. These are Ann (1739), Mary (1742), Philip (1745 - my ggg grandfather), Thomas (1747) and Elizabeth (1754). These baptisms, other than Philip's, are on LinkstothePast: East Keal PAR/1/1: General Register (1707-1783) - Images 18, 19, 21 and 22. Philip's baptism does show up on FamilySearch, but not on LinkstothePast ... however, the later source has two images numbered "19," perhaps suggesting a scanning error in this Register. Looking for Joseph's marriage I have found "Married Anno Dom 1737: May 9th, Joseph Low Bachelor & Damaris Loft Spinst:” [LinkstothePast: East Kirby PAR/1/2: General Register (1708-1802) - Image 12.] I have also turned up a burial for “Dameris wife of Joseph Low buryed December 11th 1737.” [LinkstothePast: East Kirby PAR/1/1: General Register (1708-1802) - Image 18.] I currently take this Joseph to be the one fathering children in East Keal 1739-1754. If so, his marriage would likely take place between December 1737 (Dameris' burial) and say, 1739 (Ann's baptism). However, I have not had much luck (even trying a wider date range). Any suggestions would be welcome. I am currently taking Joseph to be a s/o Philip LOW and Judith SCULPHOLM who married at North Somercotes in 1704. Denny (Perth, Ontario)

    3. Ahhh, it's either April 32nd or May 2nd.  Let's see... "30 days hath September..."  Hmmm, must be May. Well, that said, it's the season for itchy eyes and sneezing, dogs that need combing (and a cat or two, also) and a celebration.  It's the Merry Month of May!  Have you done your Maypole Dance yet?  Go down to the village green and dance about madly, give flowers to the young people you meet.  Hug someone close to you.  Oh, sorry, thought you were running for office, eh? Let's focus on women named Mary who seem to have no last name.  Mary isn't a common name in my family these days, but there's a ton of 'em in my family tree.  Particalarly if you count Maryannes, Marian, Miriam, etc.  SO find one in your tree and tell us what you know about her and let us see if we can add to the story, maybe even a last name! Let's make this "The Mary month of May".     Lou
