I am a new member, and my interest lies in Benjamin HOLMES, woolsorter, who married Harriet Smallpage, spinster, Leeds, St. Peter's, 24 December 1827. Four children were born in England: George A., Charles, Helen, and Jane. The family is believed to have resided in Sutton-in-Ashfield. They arrived in New York City on 9th April 1835 with surname BRANDRETH. While in England, he also used the surnames of DAUBENEY and ANSON. In New York he was engaged in pill manufacturing.
