    1. [ENG-LANCS-YORKS] Wedding photo in the Cabbage patch

    3. I have a photograph of my g'parents' wedding party taken in 1910. The group are assembled in the cabbage patch, that is the cabbages are in the foreground. This photo has always been referred to as 'the traditional photo in the cabbage patch', however when asked about what tradition, collectively nobody knew. I know this practice continued up until at least the 50s. Can anyone throw any light onto this 'tradition'? I have several replies vaguely referring to fertility but nothing definitive.
