Does anyone know where I can see or buy a copy of the 1891 census (Lancs), please. I have come up against a brick wall in trying to trace my grandfather James Peak(e) who died aged 33 (?) in 1915 (killed in action WW1). I know that he was born in Lancashire, but probably just after the 1881 census. Thank you. Bridget (Berkshire).
James Peake would appear to have been born in Kearsley or Bolton based on the 1901 census These two are the only realistic entries James Peake 18 Lancs Kearsley Lancaster Farnworth Coal Miner Putter James Peake 19 Bolton Lancs Bolton Cb Bolton Fleter Foundry On a light note, I find it difficult to putt on the greens so how James went on putting down a coal mine I don't know !
