I am interested in the PLATT surname especially in the 1700 - 1800's. They were in the Saddleworth area of West Riding, Yorkshire, and many migrated to the Oldham area of LAN. I am most particularly looking for parents of George PLATT b. 7 Jun 1829 supposedly Oldham. Although I have checked church records for over 50 churhces in and around Oldham, I have yet to find him. Family history says his father MAY have died 1848-1852, leaving a widow. George "jumped ship" in Philadelphia, PA, USA abt 1848, and I know much of his whereabouts after that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ann annbrick@thewavz.com
