Dear Listers, Below, the list of surnames submitted this week. Also this week, I received several complaints of bouncing emails. I re-checked them and as they bounced for me also, I deleted all entries with those email addresses from the list. It is up to each submitter to inform me of any changes in his or her email address. If you suddenly find that your surnames have disappeared from the list, it is probably because you changed your email address and didn't inform me. Remember, you are the one who suffers the most and you may just miss finding your missing link! Am new to the list and researching the family of CHARLES WALTER WILLIAMS from Ulverston. Charles Walter Williams a dental surgeon was born 1863 in Dover, Kent and died 1910 in Ulverston. His wife JEANNIE (shown as JENNIE CARION Williams on the 1891 census), was born c.1865 in Ireland. Son HERBERT WALTER was born c.1890 in Hants Bournemouth, daughter GERTRUDE 1891 in Hants Bournemouth and son JOHN WATTS 1899 in Ulverston. Although I have additional information on Charles, I am hoping someone familiar with the family can lead me to Jeannie's maiden name and when she and Charles married. Pat Gillard Ontario, Canada
I have been checking some entries on LDS Film No.2170003 (Waddel to Waddicar) and noted that documents relating to 40689 Pte Michael Madden (with an M) of the East Lancs Regt. are included - Pte. Madden is stated to be of Burnley. I have no interest in the MADDEN name - but thought someone should know of this 'misplaced' soldier. A duplicate of this e-mail has been posted to the Rootsweb MADDEN-L list. Stan Langley - West Norfolk (U.K.) Principal Interests: JICKLING, LANGLEY, RICHMOND, WAD(DE)LOW.

Does anyone have knowledge of St. Johns Ambulance, Denaby, please; is it still operating? I am researching my gr-grandmother Harriet Kirby (nee Mountain) 1852-1939 who was, at her death, the oldest member of the branch. She enrolled in 1909 and received many medals; one of these was for exceptional devotion to duty at a pit disaster in Cadeby (1912?). One of her daughters, Mrs. Harriet Dickens, was also a member. I will be very grateful for any information. Bridget. bridget@hole29.freeserve.co.uk Maidenhead, Berkshire.
Dear Listers, Below, as usual, the list of surnames that were submitted during the past week. Could I humbly ask you all a favor? When submitting surnames, whether manually or with the form, please, please do not capitalise everything you enter? You should only capitalise the SURNAME you are submitting. To do otherwise means that I have to re-type all your information. Thank you kindly. Hello I am looking for the descendants of Larry (Laurence) GLYNN & his wife Mary O'NEILL. They married in Liverpool in 1878 and had a son and a daughter, (names unknown) according to family legend! I cannot find them on the 1881 Census, so they are lost! I know nothing about Larry. Mary was the daughter of Peter and Mary O'NEILL and was probably born in Liverpool about 1855. They were Irish Catholic. Mary's brother James O'NEILL came to Aus. in 1878 and lost contact. Does anyone have any missing Glynns out there? Or any ideas about how to find them? Judy South Australia

I have had a major pc crash (thanks Bill Gates, for a wonderful product) and ended up having to format my hard drive. The result of this is, I have lost all my address book and everyone's addresses. Off the top of my head, I can only remember Norman Archilbald and Peter and Pat Swinn. So, if they and anyone else remembers writing to me and I should have their address, please reply using my new address sp014j0289@blueyonder.co.uk and NOT my old address ( a.pritchard4@ntlworld.com ) Thank you Stephen Pritchard UK (Barnsley) Researching Pritchard and related families in Lancashire and Yorkshire UK --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
