    3. Tom, I had exactly the same problem when I installed a new version of Norton AV onto my PC. I did the same as Lynne has explained and I can now access attachments. Even though I'm sure the NAV has scanned them, I still do a manual scan for viruses before I open any attachment. 3. Listers, I am researching the Howarth family (spelled various ways). Joseph Howarth moved from Bradford, Yorkshire to Blackpool, Lancashire area. Could someone who has access to directories in the late 1890 and early 1900's look him up? I am trying to determine when he moved and where he might be buried. He was a master Blacksmith. The name Howarth has also been spelled (Hawarth/Haworth/Howorth) at various times up until 1890. Thanks in advance. You can email direct if easier. Patty Hopkinson genealogist@sbcglobal.net

    3. List: Please remember that you cannot receive viruses from Rootsweb mailing lists. Rootsweb doesn't accept any mail with attachments, therefore mail sent to them is ok. If you are subscribed to a mailing list in Digest Mode, then you will receive several posts which were sent to the list, as attachments, thus eliminating several individual emails. I'm sure everyone knows how it works, so won't elaborate further. If anyone has problems dealing with digests, they can unsubscribe from digest mode and subscribe in list mode. As a rule there aren't too many posts in a days time (on this list) as to clog your inbox or to increase your download time very much.
