Hi All According to Mum there is an English Martyr in the family. As I have traced my tree back to William Ireland who married Alice Haydock 14 May 1832 at St John in Preston I believe George Haydock is the most likely. Especially as William was baptised in 1808 at Salwick and Lea RC, Lea by Kirkham and his father Thomas was baptised in 1785 at St Andrew RC, Cottam. I am supposing that Alice is somehow related to George and am interested in seeing if their is anything in the family story. If anyone has any more info about these folk please get in touch or if someone can point me in the right direction to finding the descendants of the Haydocks of Cottam. Regards Bill

I am trying to find out about my Iddon relatives in the Preston area. It has been found by another relative that James the son of John and Ellen Canal Street Preston was Christened 14th March 1821 at Holy Trinity Preston. I am trying to find a link with a John and Thomas Iddon. Thomas is my great great great grandfather and he married Alice Edge who was born in Tottleworth and then moved to Clayton Le Moors. Thomas was born in 1815/1816 and baptised on 21/1/1816. I think the Christening took place at Holy trinity Preston.
