Hi Fay, Greetings from the eastern seaboard. I would be very interested in viewing copies of your Preston postcards. My family roots are from Fishwick where four generations lived in a group of cottages (finally demolished in the 1930s) on the north bank of the Ribble immediately west of Walton Bridge.I have been collecting views of the bridge vicinity for several years and now have a largeish selection, view from the west, view from the east, view from the north etc and, a recent find, a tantalisingly small image of the nearest cottage to the bridge taken just before bridge widening and cottage demolition. My ideal photo would be one taken from the Bridge Inn on the south bank to the north and directly across the river. It is probably too much to hope that your cards illustrate this, but who knows? If anyone is interested I will email them a copy. Also another of Marsden Hall, Nelson. The postcards of Preston are printed onto aluminium. Does anyone have any info on old postcards, especially aluminium ones. Cheers, Faye (West Australia) ______________________________
