Dear Listers I haven't been posting to the Preston list for some time as the LANCS list has been very helpful. However there does not appear to be anyone there who can help me with my ATKINSON quest. Thanks to the kindness of a LANCSGEN lister I have a possible church in Preston to look for my grandfather's sisters and brother who died as infants when their babysitter overdosed them with laudanum. (They lived at Lutwidge St in 1891). I'm hoping that someone has access to the records of St Joseph's RC church, Skeffington Rd, Preston (held at GRO Preston?), and can look for baptisms and deaths for: 2 baby girls, both named Ann one baby boy named Francis: Parents: George ATKINSON and Alice Sloan Dates approximately 1890 to 1893. My grandfather was born in March 1894 and was the oldest surviving child. I believe that these three children were born before him. Other children born later were: Bertha about 1895 (don't know date) Frederick b.27.12.1898 Ethel b.6.10.1903 I've been looking for these children, Ann, Ann & Francis, for some time and hope that someone will be able to help me with this at last.
