Hello all, Anyone researching ASHCROFT in Preston? A very generous Henry Ashcroft, Contractor, provided a grave for a Mary LAMB and her daughters Bridget, Ellen and Mary. There are also a couple of Ashcrofts in the grave (Colin and William). Bridget was a Catterall by marriage and her husband John is in a public grave - they both died age 38 in 1874-5. I am trying to find the connection with the Ashcrofts - maybe Mary Lamb senior was an Ashcroft before her marriage? Any info appreciated, regards Caroline Hess N. Yorks, UK.
