Hello List Members I have just joined the list and wonder if any members are researching the above names. My connection is through my g.g.grandparents: James CARTER b Preston c1805 married Mary GREENWOOD b Preston c1807. James enlisted with the 60th Regiment and was discharged in 1828. He married Mary in Preston in 1829. They, with four children Jane, John, Robert & James left for New Zealand in 1847 where he served as a "Fencible". My g.g.grandmother was born in New Zealand in 1849. I would be delighted to hear from any people who may be able to offer information on the CARTER or GREENWOOD families originating in Preston, or any relevant information that may be available.
