Hello to all, On the death certificate of Richard BALDERSTON, 12 October 1849, Whittingham, the informant's name is given as William BENNET, Whittingham. If anyone is researching the BENNET name, or can give any information on William BENNET, I would be pleased to hear from you. Could have been a neighbour of course but I would be interested to know if their is any family connection to the BALDERSTONs Kind regards. Depending on where in Whittingham, is there an address? Whittingham is a small and rather pretty village, which had a large large workhouse, which eventually became a Psychiatric hospital, closed down when they were all closed and now a housing estate. So it is possible that you Richard Balderston died in there when it was a workhouse, I dont actually know when it was built. The grounds were beautiful - I did a six month training placement there years ago, and met my husband who lived in a nearby village (Longridge) while I was there. Married nearly 25 years now, so it was a long time ago I worked there Liz >From: "Jean Garforth" <boudicca@boudicca.karoo.co.uk> >To: ENG-LANCS-PRESTON-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: William BENNET >Date: Sun, 27 Mar 2005 12:18:53 +0100 > >Hello to all, > >On the death certificate of Richard BALDERSTON, 12 October 1849, >Whittingham, the informant's name is given as William BENNET, Whittingham. >If anyone is researching the BENNET name, or can give any information on >William BENNET, I would be pleased to hear from you.
