I've just joined as I am interested in finding out more about my ancestors from Preston. Agnes ETESON is my g grandmother she was born 1874 in Preston, parents Frederick ETESON and Elizabeth DILWORTH. Eilzabeth Dilworth's family came from Chipping, though she was born in Preston, I have quite a lot of info already on them. However the ETESON's are proving more elusive. Frederick's mother was Mary ETESON (no father) on his BC, born 1854, though his MC, 1872, gives William ETESON as his father, this is the name Mary's father. Mary appears to have had quite a few children (at least six) Would it be likely Frederick could have used his grandfathers name as his farther on his marriage certificate? I have located both Frederick and Mary on the 1881 census and found some IGI records which are relevant to the family. It looks like William's wife was called Hannah.
