    3. Hi, Noelene, Sorry, I do not know your families. You also asked about Grayston Street and Livesey Street. I would suspect that both of these streets are in an area which was redeveloped in the 1970s because I have a paper map from this time which mentions Grayston Street as being close to or off George Street (which runs parallel to London Road, the A6 south out of Preston) and shows Livesey Street as one of the streets joining George Street and London Road. If you go to www.multimap.co.uk and enter London Road, Preston, as the address you seek, you will see a modern map of Preston with London Road running from top to bottom. To the left you will see George Street and you will find Livesey Street shown as a cul-de-sac off George Street. If you go to www.alangodfreymaps.co.uk you will find a publisher who has at least two large scale (ca 15 inches to the mile) maps of Preston in 1909. If you are interested, you need the Central Preston map and this one shows Livesey Street running between George Street and London Road, and Grayston Street being the next street north of Livesey Street off George Street. You can buy these maps on line. Finally if you have looked at multimap and seen the general layout of streets in Preston, turn to www.old-maps.co.uk and search for Preston. Choose the Lancashire Preston (No. 14). It will show a map from 1849. Initially the west side of the town centre is shown, follow the instructions on the screen and move eastwards. You should be able to find London Road. Increase the scale using the boxes on the right of the map. At the highest scale, you should be able to see a street running off and to the east of London Road labelled Primrose Hill. The houses you are interested in were not built at that time, but were opposite and south of Primrose Hill. Hope this helps Jim Lancaster (Bury, LAN)
