Richard, I found Jane Coward, age 54 at 44 Hawkins St. in Preston during the 1881 census. She was listed as a boarder (Head) with Ann Coward, age 47 and Mary A. Coward, age 16 there also. There is no marital status for Jane or Ann but Mary A. is listed as unmarried. All were born in Preston. The next time I go there I'll look at who else is at 44 Hawkins st. It might be a boarding house.
