I am seeking information on a Maria Heavey (age 45, unmarried, b. Kilkenny, Ireland) who was listed on the 1901 Census as a scullerymaid at the Park Hotel, Miller Park, Preston. Can anybody recommend any sources of information about this hotel, or life for hotel workers in Preston at this time, and I am wondering what would have happened to her when she became too old to work. Hi It seems the actual building still exists Above Miller Park is the Park Hotel built in the 19th Century and attached to the railway station.
