Hello all My grandfather FREDRICK HARRISON served in WW1. Family lore has it that he suffered in a gas attack. Unfortunatly i do not now know what regiment he served in- but he was Preston born and bred. Is there anyway I can find out about his record in the army??? Would any records or archives survive?? once again in anticipation paul harrison
If he served in WW1 he would have been entitled to medals. The medal rolls are at TNA Kew, and they would give his regiment or corps. From that, you could trace his records. If they survived the WW2 bombing, they will be at Kew too.
