Dear Listers, I am trying to dicover the birthplace of a William ATKINSON in the year of 1799. In the 1851 census William(age 52) would already have been married to Ann( Graham I believe) who was born in "London". I have not located either of them in the 1851 census but I believe them to be living either in High Street Preston or Bedford Street Preston at that time. In the household with them should be a daughter Margaret (17)and son Anthony(10). I would be very grateful if anyone who has access to an index could identify where this family could be found or if his birth location can be identified.I believe it to be Yedthorpe??? HO 107/2266 Folio 625 11 Back Croft Street, Preston William Atkinson head marr. 45 Weaver Sedbergh, Yks (I was there a few weeks ago) Ann wife 44 London, Middlesex Joseph son 26 Weaver Blackburn Margaret d. 17 Weaver cotton Preston Anthony son 11 Scholar Preston Ann Atkinson d-in-law marr. 20 Weaver Preston Jane Atkinson grand d. 3 months.
