Hello Ross, I would suggest you subscribe to the Rootsweb Lancashire list for Clayton, Lancashire and to the Rootsweb List for Yorkshire for Todmorden. Todmorden is close to Rochdale and right on the Lancashire border. Are you sure its Clayton in Lancashire you need and not Clayton in Yorkshire just a short distance east of Todmorden. There is also a suburb in Manchester, Lancashire named Clayton. I am sorry but Todmorden can be in either Lancashire or Yorkshire, Clayton could be Clayton-le-Moors near Accrington, so this site could also be the right one. Just a note, I am not after an argument over Todmorden, as a Lancastrian who came from nearby I consider, like other Lancastrians of the area, that Todmorden is in Lancashire, I have never recognised the border and never will I still go by the old County boundries. I accept that many Yorkists do not accept what I say. In the past the Yorkshire sign-post has been burnt down more times than I remember, all is recorded in the town archives.
