There is no record of contraception being enforced on visitors to Australia or children being banned from being carried on boats so it entirely possible the children were born in Australia and came back to England. Not all people came to Australia as convicts or free settlers, quite a few were for specific tasks. The children's ages give a good bracket to search the quite extensive shipping records to and from Australia and if you think this is a family branch, you should be able to track down their Australian sojourn with perseverance. Alan, Any leads on how to look up the passenger lists please?
