    3. Why not try sending for Harold Davies wedding certificate to his second wife? This would give his fathers name and trade . It would be a start in locating him in the 1901 census, once you have this information. 3. Hi Pauline, I have looked at the 1841 Census and there are hardly any images on the pages for Longridge. I have looked on the 1851 Census for Longridge. I didn't find a Richard Greenwood, but there were two other Greenwood families, Thomas and Mary Greenwood and their children. Thomas was a Stone Mason. James Greenwood and Ellen and their children. James was a labourer in a Stone Quarry. Could these families be related to yours? If you contact me off the List, I will send you the details. 3. Although this might be the wrong list to inquire about a census listing for Longridge, I thought I'd give it a try! I tried looking at the 1841 census of the village of Longridge in Ribchester for Richard and Agnes Greenwood and their daughter Agnes (age 1 1/2) but find that the copy that I received from the Family History Library in Salt Lake is completely illegible for this part of the film. Richard was a stone mason and his daughter always listed Longridge as the place she was born at in future censuses. I'd like to find out how old her parents were and if she had siblings. Does anyone have access to a copy of that census that is legible? If so, could they look at it for me and let me know if that particular Greenwood family is there? Thanks very much. 3. Just a note to those of you who prefer your black and white images the old-fashioned way. Some years ago (1998) the Lancashire County Library published a "Guide to Lancashire Local Studies Collections (AGuide to the resources of the Lancashire County Library and Museum Service and the Lancashire Record Office)" I suppose there will have been slight changes here and there but I have no idea if a revision has been made available but I have found that my 213 page "Guide" has been very useful. I have no information as to the cost or availabilty, I got my copy by way of a gift whilst on a visit to England; Thank you Pat. llankyladd

    2. Vern Prescott
    3. After restoring my computer to one week earlier, I still could not access. I determined that a friend with the same ISP could access. I have a wireless router and use a laptop. So, I plugged the cable from the modem directly to my laptop, bypassing the router. Still nothing. After plugged the cable back into the router and VOILA!!! , up poped the site. Funny thing is all other sites were always accessible except this one. It must be magic! Vern in Ontario

    3. This still is not working for me. Everything was fine up until a few days ago. I have heard from others that it is OK. As far as I know, nothing has changed on my computer. Is it possible that certain ISP's are having problems accessing. Are other Canadians accessing the site OK. Vern in Ontario
