I wonder if SKS would please be able to look up the following marriage for me and send the details. In particular, I need to know Matthew's father's name and occupation. Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1877 CORNALL, Matthew - EASTHAM, Elizabeth - Lytham, St.John - Fleetwood & Fylde FI/1/122 TIA Vern in Ontario
Thomas Turner Catterall was born in Preston June 1853 and I'm not sure who his parents and siblings are yet. Was hoping census lookups in 1861 and 1871 would provide clues, if anyone had time to look and access to the records. He was in the U.S. by 1880. Thank you, Shirley

Is there anyone on the List researching the name Mainwaring and possibly recognises the following : Agnes Mainwaring married Richard Edward Whitfield in 1924 in Preston. Richard Edward Whitfield was my late Father's step brother and I have only recently discovered him, he was born 1901 in Sculcoates, Yorkshire to a Richard Whitfield and a Martha Whitfield (nee Chapman). By the time of the marriage his Mother had died and his father had married an Ann(ie) Moss at St Ignatius Church, Preston in 1922. Agnes Mainwaring's parents were Henry and Lily Mainwaring (nee Brooks). In 1926 Richard and Agnes were living at 61 Frank Street, Preston when their son Kenneth Richard died aged 5 months. In 1931 Richard and Agnes were living at 72 Havelock Street, Preston when Richard died aged 29 years. Between the years of their marriage in 1924 and Richard's untimely death in 1931 I feel there must have been more children and I would love to find them. Regards, Pauline Thomas (nee Whitfield)

Hi Sandra. I would suggest you join the Middleton List. Oldham, Chadderton and Hopwood are within this area by about 5 miles. Middleton had a famous local poet in the mid 1800's named Samuel Bamford. He was born in 1788 and died in 1872. Hello, I am looking for the baptism of Joseph ECCLES. He was married in 1823 to Margaret SLATER from Wheelton. He died before 1851 but he was on the 1841 census. He was born about 1802. They were married at Leyland. John KIRBY born about 1750 married Jennet WHITESIDE in 1883 at Kirkham. I am looking for a John who lived to get married as I keep finding one only to find he died to young. James LEACH married Alice SINGLETON in 1744 at Woodplumpton. I am looking for the baptisms. I would like to hear form anyone else researching these names. Joan In Devon

Hello, I'm new to the list and researching a friend's great-grandfather, Thomas Turner Catterall, born in England about 1854, died in Scott County, Iowa, USA in 1928. He immigrated before 1880, because he was first found in the 1880 US census in Rock Island County, Illinois, boarding with a private family, and his occupation was given as civil engineer. I joined this list because I located a Thomas Turner Catterall born June 1853 in Preston, Lancashire, on the FreeBMD records website. Thomas married Katherine Becker in Iowa in 1893, and they had children named Mary, Margaret, Paul and Mabel. Paul was my friend's grandfather. I am hoping to locate the parents of Thomas and hopefully connect with another family researcher so we can share information. Thank you, Shirley Siltala Tucson, Arizona
Christine, Thank you for the information that sent on the Wallace's. I will check into this and see what I can find. Pat
I am searching for family of Mary Ann Wallace. According to her tombstone, she was born in Preston, St. John, England in 1831. She immigrated to America prior to 1850, settled in Paterson, New Jersey, then moved to San Francisco, California where she died and is buried. She married Lawrence Morris.
