    1. HELP NEEDED FOR ELUSIVE NAME
    2. Margaret Robinson
    3. Amongst our family "papers" is a marriage certificate between Mary EACHWORTH & John BARNES in 1868 (not researching BARNES at this point). They are my great grandparents and from that certificate and facts known to me about Mary I now have obtained copies of the birth certificates of Mary, born in Blackburn Jan. 15, 1849, and her brother William, born in Cuerden March 30, 1846, however the names are shown as EATESWORTH in both cases, not EACHWORTH. I wish to take it back further and find the marriage certificate between Mary & William's father Thomas EATESWORTH and their mother Agnes LAW(E) or perhaps birth certificates for Thomas and Agnes (or would that be jumping too soon)? My research which began as EACHWORTH is now EATESWORTH and I am thinking that this name is not rock solid either and could be leading to EASTWOOD or EDGEWORTH, for instance. Where do I go from here with look ups? I have been on the list for a couple of years and have been impressed by the help and dedication of so many people. Your input would be wonderful. Margaret from Alberta (born in Blackpool!)

    3. To Christine and Vern - What wonderful people you are!! Thank you so much for the ton of information - my daughters were so impressed that two people would go to such great lengths for a simple request to find someone lost for 15 years! Thank you again. The names fit - I just have to find them in each place they moved too - ending their journey in Liverpool. After WW II my Father immigrated to South Africa - so I never met my Grandparents. If you happen to stumble onto any more information about this family, I would be most grateful for it. With kind regards, Carolyn Cash Illinois.

    3. Hi all As you may be aware Freecens is transcribing ALL the UK 19th century census returns to create an online 'free-to-view' database. As the organiser for the Fylde and Preston areas of the Lancashire County project, I am looking for people who have some time to spare, a computer and access to a microfiche reader. Everything else, including microfiche, software and all the help you need will be provided by the project. If you are interested, please take a look at the project web site listed in my signature block. If you believe, as we do, that the census returns should be freely available and available for free, why not drop me a line at jenny@jenmike.freeserve.co.uk Regards' Jenny Anderton Fylde and Preston area co-ordinator for the Freecens project http://www.freecen.org.uk/ Helping to get the 19th century Census on line for free access by all.
