From the Family History (L.D.S.) Library Online Catalogue, there is a publication obtainable from the 'Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society' (google for details) titled 'St. Andrew's R.C. church, Cottam, burial register and monumental inscriptions.' By description it includes register of burials through to 1998, plan of graveyard etc. Unfortunately the film fiche of this by the Mormons cannot be circulated to Family History Centres. Hi, Pauline, and Alan, If the document you are looking for is the one found by Alan, then the reason it cannot be circulated by the LDS is that the original fiche are still in copyright. In fact, if you want the fiche you can find details at www.lfhhs.org.uk >Shop>Microfiche>C I have a copy of these fiche. hope this helps Jim Lancaster (Bury, Lancs.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "alan potter" <goodhopes@bigpond.com> To: <ENG-LANCS-PRESTON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, April 01, 2005 1:10 AM Subject: RE: Burials

Hi, Located through CEMSEARCH-uk Keith Alcock buried Preston cemetery, Lancashire England. Keith is listed as the husband of Doreen [possibly nee WILSON] and father of Douglas Keith who died in infancy. No dates noted for the above but buried in same plot as other Wilson's and next to Mulligan, Alcock plot. Where dates are noted the first Wilson burial appears to be 1916 and last dated at 1950. The Mulligan, Alcock plot dates are 1888-1932. I'm interested in discovering if there is a family connection between Keith Alcock and the Mulligan and Alcock family buried in the next plot. Thankyou, Harriet

Hello to all, On the death certificate of Richard BALDERSTON, 12 October 1849, Whittingham, the informant's name is given as William BENNET, Whittingham. If anyone is researching the BENNET name, or can give any information on William BENNET, I would be pleased to hear from you. Could have been a neighbour of course but I would be interested to know if their is any family connection to the BALDERSTONs Kind regards. Depending on where in Whittingham, is there an address? Whittingham is a small and rather pretty village, which had a large large workhouse, which eventually became a Psychiatric hospital, closed down when they were all closed and now a housing estate. So it is possible that you Richard Balderston died in there when it was a workhouse, I dont actually know when it was built. The grounds were beautiful - I did a six month training placement there years ago, and met my husband who lived in a nearby village (Longridge) while I was there. Married nearly 25 years now, so it was a long time ago I worked there Liz >From: "Jean Garforth" <boudicca@boudicca.karoo.co.uk> >To: ENG-LANCS-PRESTON-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: William BENNET >Date: Sun, 27 Mar 2005 12:18:53 +0100 > >Hello to all, > >On the death certificate of Richard BALDERSTON, 12 October 1849, >Whittingham, the informant's name is given as William BENNET, Whittingham. >If anyone is researching the BENNET name, or can give any information on >William BENNET, I would be pleased to hear from you. Hello Pat, You don't need to live near an LDS Centre to obatin a copy of any record found in the IGI. Fill out the photocopy request form and for $2.00 they will send you a copy. To find that form go to: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHL/frameset_library.asp click on "Services" from menu on the left scroll down to "Ordering Copies by Mail" and click the link there -- Cheers, Colin Ferguson
Would SKS please look up the following marriage for me. From IGI - WILLIAM PARK Marriages: Spouse: MARGARET HOLMES Marriage: 04 SEP 1852 Saint John, Preston, Lancashire, England Thanks Vern in Ontario
Would anyone have access to the records of this church? I would LOVE to have a copy of the marriage record for Charles English & Catherine Whalley, who married 11 may 1818 at St. Johns, Preston. I would happily pay for any cost involved in getting it. Pat Marshall Ontario, Canada P.S. I am not near an LDS Centre!
Hi List, I had three names to research and CEMSEARCH did a great job, included in the report is relationship information from the headstone, all for a modest fee, and like Mike, received a later updated report at no additional cost. I am keenly awaiting further extensions to their cemetery coverage.
