    2. Vern Prescott
    3. Three or four years ago, I found a list on the Internet of person's who had their land seized about 1643 because they were loyal to the King. I can no longer find the printout and cannot seem to find it on the Web. Is anyone familiar with this list? Can someone direct me to it on the Internet or provide a copy of it for me? Thanks Vern in Ontario

    1. 1851 Lookup - MEE family, Preston
    2. I am researching MEEs and WORDENS in Preston. My gt.gt.grandfather, John MEE, was born in Preston on 15 Nov 1838, the son of James MEE, malt-maker/farmer, and Mary MEE, formerly COTTAM. In 1859 he married Alice WORDEN, born c1829 in Preston, the daughter of John WORDEN, warper. I am hoping that someone can find this family on the 1851 census: James MEE aged about 62 Mary MEE aged about60, possibly born Hoole or Bretherton John MEE aged about 12 There might be another son, Henry MEE, aged about 22, and I would be interested in finding the whereabouts of Richard MEE, born about 1817 in Penwortham, as I think he might be another sibling. Many thanks, Kath

    2. Mike Morris
    3. Hello to you all. I am very interested in any BREAKELL or THORNBER names you might find from around the 1800 time period. Especially a John BREAKELL and his wife Ann. They were my GGGgrandparents. John was born in 1801 in Cuerden Lancashire. Ann was listed as born in 1800 or earlier in Inskip. Their daughter Ann BREAKELL (formerly Muir) B1820, married a George Thornber in 1845. Both were listed as widowers. George was B1813 in Preston. They were my gggrandparents. The BREAKELL'S were in the business of building boats in the Preston area. I do have a list of their children if this is of any help. I have yet to find out who George THORNBER'S parents were or who he was married to before Ann. My thanks for any help you might be able to give me. 3. Dear Ann, That is fantastic! Not just one but several different and essential pieces of information. In all later census entries Ann's place of birth is given only as London. This is now much more specific. It was only after sending out the enquiry yesterday that I looked at a blow up of Yedthorpe and tried to imagine what it was and Sedbergh was one of the options that came up. This now confirms that. That address of Croft Street comes up time and time again in my family . Thank you so much for that. I do have the 1851 films at my local LDS but it is closed until the end of June for renovations. I am now up and running again on something that had been blocking me for a long time now. I very much appreciate your kind assistance.
