    1. Did Francis (and William) Parker go to Preston?!
    2. Elizabeth Parker
    3. I have recently (ish) discovered that my great grandfather Walter Parker (born 2/2/1889 in Radford in Nottingham) had two older brothers we did not know existed! All we knew was that Walter's parents (William Henry Parker & Elizabeth nee Dominic[k][o]) had married in 1871 in Nottingham, Walter was born in 1889 and they moved to Preston in 1891. Sometime after that they had a daughter Hilda (died 1976) who married a man called Taylor and had two daughters (Dorothy & Muriel). I always thought from 1871 to 1889 was a long time to stay childless (I know there are many good reasons why it may happen) but as far as we knew Walter was the eldest. I found William Henry and Elizabeth on the 1881 census living in Bow (East London) with two "unknown" sons (both born in Nottingham): William born approx 1873/74. Francis born approx 1877/78. The family were back in Nottingham for the 1891 census. William (aged about 17) was not on it but 13 year old Francis and two year old Walter were. We would like to know if Francis (and William) either stayed in Nottingham or went to Preston. If not before the 1901 census is available. According to my Gran my Grandad (Walter's son) used to say there were related Parkers in Burnley but did not know any more. If anybody knows what happened to William and Francis I would love to hear from you. Liz. 3. I am searching for information of the following family that is from Preston, Lancashire. I am searching for any information on a Thomas WHITTLE, occupation "weaver" (as was half of the male population), of Preston, Lancashire, England. He was the father of a Thomas WHITTLE b. between 9 Apr 1830 and 9 Apr 1831 (poss. as late as 1832) in Preston, Lancashire, England, who married on 9 Apr 1854 Preston, Lancashire, England to Isabella CARR, daughter of an Edward CARR, occupation "Tackler". Their death dates are unknown. Thomas WHITTLE and Isabella CARR had the following children: Henry WHITTLE b. Abt 1859 Thomas WHITTLE b. abt 1863 Robert WHITTLE b. Abt 1865 Ann WHITTLE b. Abt 1869 John Carr WHITTLE b. Mar 1870, emigrated in 1889 to Fall River, MA, m. 1893 to Emeline DALE Since I have approximate birthdates, from their marriage license, and there are about 20 Thomas WHITTLEs born in a 5 year span in Preston, what should my next step be in finding the correct Thomas "2" and his father Thomas "1" the "weaver".
