Hi Beth The Wood/s I am researching is John Wood born around 1826. He had an illegitimate son, James Clarke, with Ann Clarke. James was born on the 30th April 1854 in Wigan. My Athertons are Ellen Atherton born 28th February 1825 in Wigan. Her parents were Thomas Atherton and Elizabeth Dawber. She married William Barlow on the 2nd July 1849 in Wigan. The other children I can find for Thomas and Elizabeth Atherton are: Jane 1830 Thomas 1832 David 1835 Elizabeth 1836 John Frost 1840 William 1842 I also have a Maria Harrison. She was born around 1801. I don't know who her parents were but she married James Barlow on the 19th January 1823 in Wigan. I am trying to find the parents of Mary Pinington. She married Peter Heys a Scholes blacksmith, on 26 Aug 1821 at Wigan Parish Church. They had at least 5 children: John 1st Son, born 09 November 1821. Elizabeth born 08 December 1825. James 2nd son, born 12 June 1828. (My line) Peter 3rd son, born 14 July 1830. Mary Anne. 3rd Daur. born May 1833. There is no record of other children till she died in childbirth 12 February 1838 at their house on Hardybutts. If anyone knows the Pinington/Pennington line, I'd be pleased to hear from you. Peter Wood
