Hi Is anyone researching Mathew BATTERSBY? I ask as Im interested in his wife Mary Horrocks- marriage 1839 Wigan according to lancs BMD. Mary says she was born Wigan circa 1814 in all census returns apart from 1851 when she says Warbury? Yorkshire. My Ann HORROCKS said she was a Yorkshire girl born circa 1822in 1851 census (Lancs 1841) and William who I expect could be her brother said born circa 1821 Yorkshire in 1881 (Wigan the rest of the time). Im hoping to find someone with Mary and Matthews marriage cert in the hope that her dad is John HORROCKS a crofter. (and save myself £7.00 plus a postal delay) My theory is that this Horrocks family had a sojurn to Yorkshire and then returned to the Ince area of Wigan to have more kids and settle and so im looking for any Horrocks who could be siblings etc. living in hope Carol
