I am new to the Wigan List and am hoping that someone can help me with my DERBYSHIRE research. I have found 'my' John DERBYSHIRE born 1797 living in North Road, Preston on the 1841 census. His place of birth was a little confusing but from later census I know that he was born in Blackrod. On the IGI there is a John Derbyshire born 6 November 1797 and christened 24 December 1797 at St Katherine, Blackrod with parents Ralph Derbyshire and Nancy Holland - who were married 5 February 1793 in Standish. I am assuming this is 'my' John but how can I be sure ? Derbyshire is a common name in this area. I would love to know if he had any siblings which may help to find more on him. Kind regards, Pauline
